Empowering Immigration Stories: A Testimonial for LCSW Monica Roldan's Expert Psychological Evaluations

My name is Marguerite Marty, Esq. I am an immigration attorney practicing in the NYC area. Over the past several years, LCSW Monica Roldan has written numerous psychological evaluations for my clients that have been submitted as expert evidence when applying for relief in the form of a psychological hardship waiver, as well as for immigration relief for survivors of crime who suffered extreme emotional harm. Practically speaking, the fact that Ms. Roldan is fluent in English and Spanish has been extremely helpful as it eliminates the additional cost of an interpreter for the client and creates additional trust and comfortability for the client. The fact that Ms. Roldan has studied, lived, and worked in both South America and the United States gives her an additional understanding of the immigrant community that helps my clients feel secure in sharing their experiences. Most importantly, her many years of training and experience ensure that she can skillfully interview clients to understand their personal stories and psychological symptoms without re-traumatizing them. Given that I am frequently in need of evaluations for both children and adults, as well as complex and layered familial relationships, Ms. Roldan’s many years of  experience counseling and working with families has been extremely valuable. Ms. Roldan is also very communicative with the attorneys and responsible with deadlines.   In sum, I highly recommend Ms. Roldan.
