Daniela Gonzalez
Daniela Gonzalez
My name is Daniela Gonzalez Manzano. I was born in Cali, Colombia, and came to the United States when I was nine. As an immigrant and daughter of immigrants, I struggled with culture shock and homesickness when I first came to the country. Accustoming yourself to a new lifestyle, a new language, and new people is more accessible with the proper support. As a young child, one of my biggest challenges was school. The language barrier between my teachers, peers, and me caused feelings of loneliness and stress. As an undergraduate student at Rutgers University majoring in Health Administration, I came across the opportunity to work with Muunar. I work alongside Muunar's team to continue supporting and promoting the organization and its resources. We are building a community where all cultures are welcome.

Mitzy Gonzalez
Mitzy Gonzalez
My name is Mitzy. I am a bilingual (Spanish and English) consultant at Muunar. I am a driven dreamer who has experienced the immigration process. I am pursuing a career in mental health as I am earning a B.A. in Social Work at Rutgers University. I want to give back to the immigrant community by empowering young people to share their stories. I recognize the difficulties of standing up for oneself, one's family, and community.

Manuela Roncancio
Manuela Roncancio-Roldan
Hi, my name is Manuela Roncancio-Roldan. Many people have inquired why I am interested in deepening my research and understanding of immigration. The reason for this fascination is rooted in my life experiences as a first-generation and the first in my family to be born in the US. I have always wondered if losing one's individuality is needed to develop a public identity in a new country, but it's not: this is what MUUNAR has taught me. You are one of a kind and in the process of assimilation, never compromise your uniqueness, rather unite the beauties of two worlds/cultures.

Vanessa Daza
Vanessa Daza
I was born in Bolivia, but I have lived in the United States for most of my life. Like many, I have had to adapt and figure out my cultural identity and how that impacted my development and worldview. These experiences have helped me understand my clients and carry out my work more effectively. As a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has trained in the United States and abroad, I have come to understand the simple nuances that can greatly impact how someone can cope with things like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and/or other chronic mental conditions.
My primary focus in individual sessions is to empower my clients, with a mixture of empathy and humor, to work together in defining and reaching their goals. This means adjusting expectations and defining the type of approach based on their individual experiences to ensure meaningful and productive sessions. Mi enfoque es principalmente la perspectiva de la Terapia Centrada en las Emociones,
con especial atención a cómo las emociones se entrelazan con la identidad del individuo y la forma en que perciben sus fortalezas. By combining self-awareness and identifying, validating, and accepting their emotions, clients can acknowledge their resources and ultimately achieve their personal and therapeutic goals.
